Lot #2182:
(C) WINCHESTER MODEL 1892 SADDLE RING CARBINE
Dates to 1917. This carbine has a factory shipped replaced barrel as evidenced by the circle P at breech and this barrel has the late barrel legends as well as a ramp with dovetailed white bead front sight. Barrel also exbibits the later rifle semi buckhorn rear sporting sight. Left side of frame has the post war two tapped holes on left side for a receiver sight. Standard features include the single barrel band, saddle ring with stud, blue finish, walnut stock with metal carbine butt plate and matching long wood forearm. CONDITION: Very good. The later replaced barrel and tube retain nearly all of their blue finish showing nominal handling. The receiver has faded to grey patina. Stock is excellent as refinished showing only minimal handling. Mechanically sound with a bright bore.
