(C) WW2 INLAND M1A1 SEMI AUTO PARATROOPER CARBINE
Manufactured by Inland Division of General Motors with barrel marked "INLAND MFG DIV, GENERAL MOTORS 5-44". Type 2 barrel band with 4 rivet "H.I." marked handguard, "IO" marked folding stock with Ordnance wheel inspection on bottom of pistol grip. "AI" marked blue finished round bolt assembly, "P" marked op rod, Inland Division marked trigger assembly with blank push button safety and "M" marked magazine release. "IU" marked 15 round magazine and fitted with unmarked khali cotton sling and oiler in stock. Butt plate has "2257614" with wheel marking cast to underside. Milled slide adjustable rear sight. The M1A1 Paratrooper carbine saw extensive use after the June 6th Normandy invasion and was used continuously into the Vietnam war era. CONDITION: Very fine with excellent bright bore, and retains over 95% parkerized finish. Stocks are very fine with some small period of use impressions. Leather cheek rest remains supple. Mechanically excellent.
