The 1919 platform has been a mainstay of the US military's armament since World War II, with numerous variants and copies having been produced and/or utilized for a variety of roles by various nations across the world. This example, manufactured by MCGI of McMinnville, Tennessee, was fabricated using original Israeli 1919A4 parts and components with a newly produced right receiver sideplate. The right side of the receiver is marked "NO 044 US INSP MJB / BROWNING MACHINE GUN / US CAL 30 M 1919A4SEMI-AUTO / MAN'FD BY SAGINAW STEERING GEAR DIV / GENERAL MOTORS CORPORATION", with a very small engraved "MCGI McMINNVILLE TN" manufacturer mark that is partially obscured by the receiver cover. Left side of receiver is stamped "7.62" followed by a Hebrew "H", indicating that this example was converted to fire 7.62x51mm NATO ammunition, with additional Israeli conversion stamps present on the receiver top cover and bolt assembly. Receiver is currently mounted with an 8mm Mauser barrel. Metal components exhibit a parkerized finish overall. This example is accompanied by a 1966 dated tripod, an additional pintle mount, 2 additional T&E mechanisms, a 1919A6 pattern buttstock, carry handle, a .30-06 Springfield chambered barrel, a spare muzzle booster, 1 250-round pedestal ammunition can, 1 100-round ammunition can, 1 cloth ammunition belt, as well as a large box of disintegrating links. CONDITION: Very good overall, with metal components retaining the vast majority of their parkerized finish, exhibiting some wear through to silvering at the tripod attachment points, as well as some scattered superficial marks from handling and storage overall. Mirror bore, exhibiting strong rifling throughout. .30-06 Springfield barrel is very bright, exhibiting some mild pitting and retains strong rifling throughout. Tripod exhibits wear overall to its painted finish, but is otherwise sturdy and serviceable. A very nice example of a 1919A4 semi-automatic rifle that is accompanied by a nice assortment of desirable accessories.
