Circa 1980. An elegant Italian 20 gauge sporting game gun with blacked 27" dovetail barrels. Barrels are fit with 3" chambers, ejectors, and a smooth concave tapered rib. Rib is fit with a round brass front bead sight. Left barrel reads "ABBIATICO & SALVINELLI". Barrel flats with Italian proofs, gauge, serial number "387", AF in box for year. Front lump with names of craftsmen. Bottom of left barrel marked "CAM. 76". Chokes are Full in left and Improved Modified in right. The coin finished sidelock action with disk strikers, cocking indicators, double triggers with first being articulated, engraved and checkered top lever, and engraved and checkered slide safe. "S" is engraved gun is non-auto safe. Action is fun and handsomely with game scenes with birds flying away over and through wooded terrain. Left lockplate with quail, top rear being shot. Right lock plate with pheasant being shot up close. Action bottom with woodcock flying through woods. All engraving very well executed by Master Engraver Fausto Galleazzi which is on right lock plate at bar. Double triggers protected by a nicely engraved right hand rolled edge trigger guard which extends to a long bottom strap which is also nicely scroll engraved and bears the guns serial number "387". The gun's European fiddlebacked and smoky walnut stock has been crafted with drop points and a diamond shaped English straight hand grip. Grip with sharp and tight point checkering. Buttstock is finely checkered. Long splinter forend with gold crest at center, engraved steel escutcheon, Anson styled push button release, tight sharp checkering and tight scroll engraved coin finished iron metal. Gun lives in a brown Italian leather makers case with cleaning tools and accessories. CONDITION: Excellent. Barrels retain mostly all of their original black and bores are bright. Action, triggers, and ejectors are excellent. Stock and forend are near perfect. Case is very good with slight storage marks. Great Gun.
