(M) MUFFOLINI ENGRAVED RIZZINI 12 GAUGE SIDE BY SIDE SHOTGUN WITH CASE

Circa 1991 per "BA" date code. Chopper lump barrels with a diminutive bead front on a narrowing, solid, depressed rib, engraved "ARMI Flli FIZZINI - MAGNO VT", with a wide triangle of scroll at reach of rib and lightly floral dressed breeches. Underside of barrels with serial number, date code, and Italian nitro proofs for a gun with 2 - 3/4" chambers with a nominal 18.3 IBD at 1,330 KG, also stamped "8" and "4", with a Foxtrot import mark behind forearm loop. Forearm with reinforced Anson release with flat top checkering about a central diamond with a teardrop escutcheon. Exterior iron engraved with well cut florals in a style reminiscent of Hyppolite Corombelle. Interior iron with "EJECTORE / BREV / RIZZINI" and serial number. Action flats with Italian nitro proofs, serial number, and "FLLI RIZZINI". Sidelock action is engraved with nearly three dimensional floral bouquets with a fine scroll background and beaded borders, with "Flli RIZZINI" in a ribbon on bottom of action. Single inertia driven trigger with a non-automatic safety with a gold inlaid "S" ahead of slide. Engraving signed "S. Muffolini" adjacent trigger guard for the celebrated Stefano Muffolini. Reddish walnut stock with a rich, flowing grain accented by fiddleback and flat top checkering about the wrist and a checkered butt. Housed in a leather wrapped and tabbed Nizzoli case with foliage green lining, a Rizzini trade label in lid, and containing accessories comprising two piece cleaning rod, pair snap caps, oil bottle, Rizizni proof certificate, and Amiet lock brochure. CONDITION: Excellent, retaining virtually all of the factory finishes throughout, with some errant handling marks from handling and display. Mechanically fine, bores excellent, bright and smooth, ejectors are soft but in time. Engraving is crisp and well cut. Case with some handling marks and scuffs on exterior, with some rubs on interior. A well engraved example.
