Manufactured in 1976 during the American Bicentennial with commemorative "MADE IN THE 200th YEAR OF AMERICAN LIBERTY" barrel stamping. Tropical configuration chambered in the rarely encountered .45-70 chambering, a catalog caliber for 1976 only. Rifle features a blued medium weight round barrel with sporting sights mounted to the sturdy Ruger No. 1 Farquharson style single shot action. Fit with 2-piece checkered figured walnut stocks, with Alexander Henry forend and pistol grip butt with a factory red rubber recoil pad. Rifle is accompanied by a unnumbered factory box and paperwork. CONDITION: Excellent as factory refurbished in 1986 with included invoice. Barrel retains virtually all of its original factory blue with action factory refinished. Stocks are excellent with butt stock appearing to a factory replacement with only a few minor handling marks present. Excellent mirror bore. Fine mechanics. BAS
