Standard configuration MP40 submachine gun manufactured at the Steyr-Daimler-Puch arsenal in 1941. The lower assembly is stamped "MP40 / bnz / 41", above the serial number "6179c", receiver is stamped "bnz" along with several Steyr "(Eagle)/ WaA623" waffenamts, which are present on virtually all external and internal components. Metal components are blued, with the lower assembled consisting of pressed resin. Nearly all numbers match and include the receiver, rear sight assembly, barrel, barrel resting bar, barrel nut, front sight hood, lower assembly, trigger guard, and stock. Bolt has been renumbered, possibly during the period, and firing pin is mismatched. The NFA registry lists "Made in Germany BNZ 41" in the manufacturer block and "MP-40" in the manufacturer block. This example is accompanied by 1 additional stick magazine. CONDITION: Metal components retain fair amounts of their original arsenal finish, exhibiting wear and thinning consistent with period use and showing through to pleasant gray and brown patinas and some mild surface-level pitting. Mirror bore, exhibiting well-defined rifling throughout. Pressed resin furniture exhibits some marks from handling and storage but is otherwise fine. A nice example of an iconic and desirable German World War II submachine gun. THIS IS A NATIONAL FIREARMS ACT ITEM AND REQUIRES BATF APPROVAL PRIOR TO TRANSFER. THIS ITEM IS FULLY TRANSFERABLE ON AN ATF FORM 3 OR 4 AS CURIO AND RELIC.
