Lot #1026:
(N) AMNESTY REGISTERED GUIDE LAMP M3 "GREASE GUN" MACHINE GUN (CURIO & RELIC).
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 9/15/2026
Very attractive M3 “Grease Gun” as manufactured by Guide Lamp for use during WW2. Two original 30-round magazines and a magazine loader are included. This would have been one of the earlier guns which originally had no protection around the magazine latch. Subsequently, as seen on this gun, a protective bar was welded onto the receiver and magazine housing to prevent unintentional release of the magazine as the gun bounced against something (such as a pack, leg, or simply when grasped). Typical “Guide” on left side of magazine housing, with Guide Lamp drawing numbers on action housing “G.L. C153432” and on underside of trigger guard “B.G.R.-GL- / B 301456”. This gun is registered under an IRS number, and this is clearly on the right side of the receiver. The M3 cocks by the firer opening the ejection port cover, then actuating a lever on the left side of the receiver to withdraw the bolt to the rear. The M3 was a contemporary successor to the Thompson machine gun during WWII as a less costly, and more rapidly produced machine gun. Electronic NFA registry indicates "GENERAL MOTORS GUIDE LAMP DIV.” as the manufacturer. CONDITION: Overall appearance and finish is extremely fine original black enamel finish with some scrapes and handling marks revealing a gray patina, particularly on the right side. The barrel is more of a matte gray finish. Bore is near excellent, shiny and bright. Bolt face near excellent. Mechanics are crisp. This is a full-auto only machine gun. The U.S. M3 Grease gun is a very highly sought collectors item for both the World War II and shooting enthusiast. They are quite accurate and comfortable to shoot. A very attractive machine gun. THIS IS A NATIONAL FIREARMS ACT ITEM AND REQUIRES BATF APPROVAL PRIOR TO TRANSFER. THIS ITEM IS FULLY TRANSFERABLE ON AN ATF FORM 3 OR 4 AS CURIO AND RELIC ELIGIBLE. JWK 2026-09-93.
