DLO registered sideplate Model 37 browning air-cooled machine gun with special bolt and top cover with provision to feed from either the right or left. The dual top cover retention latches are an immediate visual giveaway. Carrying handle included on this gun. This Model 37 Browning is essentially a Browning Model 1919A4 as adapted for use on armored vehicles. Gun is marked as "MFD BY ROCK ISLAND ARSENAL / DOUGLAS L OEFINGER STAMFORD CT U.S.A” on right sideplate with relevant designations and "EB" inspector proof. Bolt is unmarked on top. Electronic NFA registry indicates “OEFINGER, DOUGLAS DBA DLO MFG” as the manufacturer. CONDITION: Overall finish and appearance is very good as refinished upon remanufacture with two areas of pitting on right side. Bore very good with strong rifling and some frosting from use. Bolt face is near excellent. Mechanics are crisp; charging handle is bent, but functional. This is a fully automatic only machine gun. The 1919A4 Browning machine gun is a mainstay of the Class III shooting community with abundant spare parts available and convertible to multiple calibers as the owner desires and has ammunition for. Nice ensemble needing only some ammunition to be ready to take to the range for recreational shooting. THIS IS A NATIONAL FIREARMS ACT ITEM AND REQUIRES BATF APPROVAL PRIOR TO TRANSFER.
