High original condition specimen of a Colt 1921 Thompson with Cutts Compensator (actually a 1921AC model). Gordon Herigstad's serial number listing of serial numbers and histories indicates, "Lawrence Heiskell collection, Virginia 1999". This gun retains its original 1921 internal parts and correctly "anchor" marked original buttstock. Typical markings on receiver with visible serial numbers matching. Crisp clear lettering and sharp edges throughout. 4 lustrous blue 20-round "Bridgeport" magazines, a "Bridgeport" 50 round drum, and reproduction hard case with 20 - 1/2" brass cleaning rod and reproduction tin parts box is included. Electronic NFA registry indicates “COLT” as the manufacturer. PROVENANCE: From the estate of a very discerning and advanced collector. CONDITION: Overall appearance and finish is near excellent deep lustrous blue original finish with very slight loss of finish at the stock attachment points, and a little thinning to the finish at the actuator slot and along the edges of the upper receiver where it meets the lower receiver. Wood is incredibly attractive with the pistol grip near excellent. Closest possible inspection reveals that the buttstock and vertical foregrip although also near excellent have had a little work done on them, with some light handling marks. Bore is near excellent, shiny and bright. Bolt face is near excellent. Mechanics are crisp. This is a select fire machine gun. Even with the bit of work done on the wood, this remains an outstanding original finish specimen, easily in the top 10 of all 1921AC Thompson models.
