This is a fabulous condition dot 43 MG-34 with added “SA” marking on the top of the barrel shroud indicating this gun was taken into service in Finland. Rather than note all the matching parts it is easier to note those which are not. The bipod is unnumbered, with a spare bipod with added numbers. The bakelite butt is unnumbered but has a fabulous clear Nazi eagle proof on the left side which more than makes up for this. The barrel is non-matching and the feed tray number is non-matching. These are minor shortcomings for the discerning MG-34 enthusiasts, as we know that all the critical functioning parts with high visibility are matching, including the following: Receiver, shroud, bolt, top cover, handgrip assembly, buffer and stock cup. These are the “key” parts. Electronic NFA registry indicates "FORM 2 REGISTRATION" as the manufacturer. Accessories include two additional 8mm barrels, a pair of 50 round “assault drums” in carrier plus an additional assault drum, as well as a leather gunner’s pouch with tools, a post-war green web gunner's tool roll and action cover, a post-war green web brass catcher (not for MG-34), and some belted brass cased ammunition, and some empty belt segments in post-WWII steel ammo cans. CONDITION: Overall appearance and finish is near excellent original blue finish with clear lettering throughout. The bipod blue is a different sheen and appears to have been added to the gun, probably after it was brought back. Bolt is a matching factory bolt, which is seldom seen on fully transferable guns. Bore is extremely fine, shiny and bright. Bolt is near excellent. Mechanics are crisp and smooth. This is a select-fire machine gun. When it comes to machined steel rifle caliber machine guns of World War II, the MG-34 is about the most attractive and definitive belt-fed gun. This is one of the finest specimens of this popular machine gun this cataloger has seen come to auction. THIS IS A NATIONAL FIREARMS ACT ITEM AND REQUIRES BATF APPROVAL PRIOR TO TRANSFER. THIS ITEM IS FULLY TRANSFERABLE ON AN ATF FORM 3 OR 4. JWK 2025-05-003.
