This gun is in the low 5 million serial number range and is quite likely actually Curio and Relic eligible. Marked simply “COLT M16” with Rampant Colt logo, caliber markings, and serial number on the left side of the magazine housing. Three prong flash-hider on heavy barrel marked simply “5.56 MM”. Screw-on Military Armament Corp Silencer and spare enclosed bird-cage silencer is included as well as the following accessories: Colt 3x20 scope in original white box (just like the one this cataloger had in combat over 20 years ago!), combination tool, U.S. M8A1 bayonet in scabbard, U.S.G.I. cleaning kit, U.S.G.I. clip-on bipod and carrier, with cleaning materials including sight adjustment tool and two muzzle caps, and two original Colt marked 20 round magazines. The following desirable paper manuals are also included: FM 23-9 (Rifle, 5.56 MM, M16A1) dated March 1970, Combat bookshelf “AR-15, M-16, AND M-16A1”, M16A1 Operator’s Manual dated May 1972, 2nd Manual dated April 1977, and December 1969 dated, “The M16A1 Rifle Operation and Preventative Maintenance” manual with cover illustration by Will Eisner. Any former soldier of the appropriate age will remember these entertaining, as well as informative, “PM” publications! This gun has the classic triangular handguards. This is a true classic in the configuration so well known to American military personnel. Bayonet lug, triangular handguards, forward assist, and windage only adjustable rear flip-up sight. Electronic NFA registry indicates "COLT" in the manufacturers block. CONDITION: Overall appearance and finish is near excellent original matte finish. Composite furnishings near excellent. This gun presents very well. Bore is near excellent, shiny and bright. Bolt face is extremely fine. Mechanics are crisp. This is a select fire machine gun. An American classic ready to take to the range. THIS LOT CONTAINS TWO NATIONAL FIREARMS ACT ITEMS THAT REQUIRE BATF APPROVAL PRIOR TO TRANSFER. EVEN THOUGH SILENCER TRANSFERS NO LONGER INCUR A TRANSFER TAX THEY STILL HAVE THE SAME PROCESSING REQUIREMENTS. THESE TWO ITEMS ARE FULLY TRANSFERABLE ON AN ATF FORMS 3 OR 4. THE SILENCER WILL REQUIRE A SEPARATE TRANSFER FORM IF TRANSFERRED ON A FORM 4. JWK 2026-09-136.
