Manufactured by Tikkakoski Oy, this one of the most desirable (and fun to shoot) models of 9 mm machine guns of WW2. This is an early production model Suomi KP/-31 machine gun without muzzle brake, and with selector on right side. This is the only registered fully transferable Suomi this cataloger has ever handled which has the selector on the side of the stock, making it a rare variation of an already rare gun. Receiver and shroud are matching numbers. Two original 71-round drums, two original leather magazine carriers with seven 36-round "coffin" magazines and accessories, and reproduction leather sling are included with this lot. This model machine gun incorporates the very convenient feature of an easily removable barrel shroud and barrel for cleaning. The latch on the right side of the receiver rotates to allow the entire shroud to rotate to unlock from the receiver and be removed. This in turn allows the barrel to be pulled forward and off the receiver for cleaning, or replacement. An innovated idea on a pistol caliber machine gun. The quality of materials, fit, and finish is top-notch throughout this piece. Electronic NFA registry indicates, “FINLAND” in the manufacturer's block. CONDITION: Overall appearance and finish is an extremely fine original lustrous blue finish fading to a pleasing smooth gray patina in places with some loss of finish at the high edges. Magazines are extremely fine. Barrel is a uniform gray patina with a near excellent bright and shiny bore. Bolt face near excellent. Mechanics are crisp. Wood is extremely fine with some light handling marks. This is a select fire machine gun, and an very exciting offering for the advanced and discerning machine gun collector.
