Desirable 4 position pictograph selector Heckler & Koch MP5SD3 registered receiver machine gun manufactured in 1984 according to “IE” proof code on top of receiver. Marked, “Made in W. Germany / HK Chantilly, Va” on right side of Magazine well, and “HK MP5 SD” on top of receiver. Rack number present from official use. This cataloger needs to emphasize the fact that this is a factory original MP5 SD, not a remanufacture, or installed auto-sear gun. This specimen incorporates a fixed stock and horizontal forend. One original, “Made in Germany” magazine included. The Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco, Firearms & Explosives (BATF) is in the process of removing restrictions on previously Pre-86 Dealer Sample restricted machine guns which meet special and specific criteria of, “GOV Exception Use”. This is one such gun. Manufacturer’s information such as “Imported NFA Firearm” is not being changed incidental to this process. Electronic NFA registry indicates “IMPORTED NFA FIREARM” as the manufacturer of the gun, and “HECKLER AND KOCH GMBH” as the manufacturer of the silencer. PROVENANCE: Official letter from the BATF identifying this gun and silencer are indeed unrestricted and fully transferable to individuals. CONDITION: Overall appearance and finish is near excellent original black hard coat finish. Exceptionally attractive. Composite furnishings of buttstock and pistol grip are near excellent. Factory original silencer serial number does not match this gun. Bore of ported barrel (for silencer) is near excellent, shiny and bright. Bolt near excellent. Mechanics are crisp. This is a select fire machine gun. Overall an exceptional factory original specimen of one of the most desirable of all modern machine guns. One of the best that can be had by an individual owner.
