High condition and highly sought after Beretta Model PM12S machine gun. Noting the serial number, this cataloger believes this was the first factory Beretta PM12S machine gun imported into the United States. The “12” series of Beretta machine guns are renown in the Class III collecting and shooting community as being thoroughly enjoyable shooting pistol caliber machine guns. The 12S model was the second in the progression of these models. It is an exceptionally well manufactured and finished modern machine gun with ergonomic vertical foregrip, folding metal shoulder stock, and grip safety on the front of the handgrip. One original 40 round magazine included. The Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco, Firearms & Explosives (BATF) is in the process of removing restrictions on previously Pre-86 Dealer Sample restricted machine guns which meet special and specific criteria of “GOV Exception Use”. This is one such gun. Manufacturer’s information such as “Imported NFA Firearm” is not being changed incidental to this process. Electronic NFA registry indicates “IMPORTED NFA FIREARM” as the manufacturer. PROVENANCE: Official letter from the BATF identifying this gun is unrestricted and fully transferable to individuals. CONDITION: Overall appearance and finish is extremely fine to near excellent original factory finish with a slight mar to the finish above the foregrip on the right side. This is commonplace as this is where the folding stock makes contact. Magazine has a blued finish. Bore is near excellent shiny and bright. Bolt face near excellent. Mechanics are crisp. This is a select fire machine gun. Any Beretta 12 series machine gun is quite scarce in the National Firearms Act Registry, and fully transferable to individual specimens are exceedingly scarce indeed.
