Beginning production in 1921, a total of 54,000 Handy Guns were produced before the National Firearms Act in 1934. Due to their numerous (albeit small) variations, these were found to be popular firearms during their time, and are still found to be quite popular with collectors today. Case colored frame retains the remnants of "H&R Handy-Gun" on the left side. Barrel is marked "410-12m/m CHOKE" over the chamber. Chamber measures 2 - 1/2" with a full choke. Barrel, hammer, trigger, and trigger guard have been reblued. Wood furniture consists of a smooth walnut forend with checkered walnut saw handle pistol grip. CONDITION: Frame retains some of its case colored finish, showing heavy wear with areas of pitting all around, as well as heavy wear to the H&R markings. The barrel retains the vast majority of it's reapplied blue finish, showing areas of pitting beneath the finish. Bore is shiny and bright throughout. Walnut furnishings are good, showing some smoothing to the checkering and some scattered handling marks. THIS IS A NATIONAL FIREARMS ACT ITEM AND REQUIRES BATF APPROVAL PRIOR TO TRANSFER. THIS ITEM WILL INCUR A $5.00 TRANSFER TAX IF TRANSFERRED ON AN ATF FORM 4. THIS ITEM IS FULLY TRANSFERABLE ON AN ATF FORM 3 OR 4 CLASSIFIED AS "ANY OTHER WEAPON". MLW
