Originally manufactured as a standard configuration AR-15 SP1 rifle by Colt in 1980, this example was converted into a machine gun by RPB Industries of Atlanta, Georgia. The left side of the receiver bears the encircled Rampant Colt atop a globe logo, followed by stampings stipulating the model and caliber designations, the serial number, and the manufacturer information. Top of barrel is stamped "C MP CHROME BORE". The selector is marked "SAFE" and "FIRE" with the 3rd position left blank. Interior of receiver has been professionally milled during the time of conversion. Metal components exhibit a gray parkerized finish. Furniture consists of a black polymer A1 pattern triangular ventilated handguard, a checkered pistol grip, and a fixed buttstock. This example is accompanied by 1 original Colt 20-round magazine and 1 unmarked 40-round aftermarket magazine. National Firearms Registry indicates "RPB. Industries" in the manufacturer block and "AR15A1" in the model block. CONDITION: Excellent, with metal components retaining the vast majority of their original factory parkerized finish, exhibiting some scattered superficial marks from handling and storage, 2 light impressions on the underside of the carrying handle from a previously mounted scope, as well as some scattered spots of discoloration from old grease. Brilliant mirror bore, exhibiting sharp and well-defined rifling throughout. Polymer furniture is excellent, save for a small loss on the left side of the handguard at one of the ventilation holes. An extremely attractive and high-condition Colt AR-15 SP1 machine gun converted by RPB Industries. THIS IS A NATIONAL FIREARMS ACT ITEM AND REQUIRES BATF APPROVAL PRIOR TO TRANSFER.
