Instantly recognizable and fun to shoot German MP-40 machine gun. Manufactured by “bnz” (Steyr) in 1941, this MP-40 incorporates the early transitional flat magazine house found only on the earliest manufactured models. In order to strengthen the magazine housing assembly and also take maximum advantage of utilizing sheet metal stamped parts the Germans started corrugating them fairly soon during production. Barrel and receiver serial numbers match. Lower assembly, although also “bnz 41” marked does not match. Nor does the bolt serial number match either. Included with this lot are two original Nazi marked magazines. CONDITION: Overall appearance and finish is very good original blued finish mostly turning to a grey patina with some areas starting to turn a brown patina. Bore is very good with strong shiny lands with dark grooves. Bolt face also very good. Mechanics are crisp. This is a full-auto only machine gun. THIS IS A NATIONAL FIREARMS ACT ITEM AND REQUIRES BATF APPROVAL PRIOR TO TRANSFER. THIS ITEM IS FULLY TRANSFERABLE ON AN ATF FORM 3 OR 4 AS CURIO AND RELIC ELIGIBLE.
