Marked “AL” (Army of Luxemberg) on top of the receiver, this is an exceptionally popular gun for machine gun enthusiasts in the United States due to it being chambered in .30-06. Repainted in matte black on metal parts with very non-reflective black painted wood furnishings, this would be exactly what soldiers would want. Standard flash hider with all the other refined features as one would expect from the nearly final version of the Browning Automatic rifle: Easily adjustable gas port nut, improved and easier to deploy and retract bipod attached to the gas cylinder, adjustable carrying handle on a quick-change barrel, a lever controlled ejection port cover which opens automatically when the bolt moves either forward or to the rear, a magazine well cover which folds easier into a recess below the gas cylinder, a more positive and ergonomic magazine release, a pistol grip, and a swing-out buttstock assembly which allows easier access to cleaning the receiver and dealing with any stoppages. The rifle also incorporates a flip-up buttplate and has provision for a monopod at the bottom of the buttstock. Belgian proofs, and British Nitro and “Tons per” proofs are marked in the left side of the non-matching (SN 249) barrel, which is indeed also marks “AL” and .30-06. One magazine included with this lot. Three position selector, “M” (Fast automatic fire) at the forward position, “R” (slow automatic fire) in the center, and “S” (safety) at the rear. Visible numbers are matching between receiver, and handgrip. Electronic NFA registry indicates “BULGARIA” as the manufacturer. This can be requested correction through the BATF upon transfer if the new owner wishes. CONDITION: Overall appearance and finish is extremely fine black non-reflective painted finish with the exception of the wooden carrying handle which is natural oil quench wood color. Wood furnishings are robust and solid and have some light to moderate handling marks. Bore is extremely fine, shiny, and bright. Bolt face extremely fine. Mechanics are crisp. This is a full-auto only machine gun. Very popular and comfortable gun to shoot at the range. THIS IS A NATIONAL FIREARMS ACT ITEM AND REQUIRES BATF APPROVAL PRIOR TO TRANSFER. THIS ITEM IS ONLY ELIGIBLE FOR TRANSFER TO ACTIVE FFL/SOT DEALERS AS A PRE-86 DEALER SAMPLE. Pre-86 dealer sample machine guns may be retained privately by sole proprietor FFL/SOT dealer after they relinquish their licenses, with BATF approval. JWK 2021-11-042
