Extremely fine smooth lustrous refinished Harrington & Richardson Reising Model 50 machine gun with 13.75" barrel with compensator. One 12 round magazine included. Nice vintage light brown leather sling included. The Reising Model 50 was fielded in limited numbers to the Marine corps during World War II when there were insufficient Thompson machine guns to meet military demand and has the intrinsic accuracy advantage of firing from a closed bolt on the first shot. Police departments took a significant number of these Reisings into their inventories during and after World War II. This particular specimen was at one time in the Dallas County Sheriff’s Department, and is stenciled, “SHERIFF’S DEPT” above “36” in white letters on left side of buttstock, and cleanly stamped on left side of receiver, “DALLAS CO . SHERIFF DEPT 36”. CONDITION: Overall appearance and finish is extremely fine smooth lustrous blue refinish with some slight softening of the lettering on the top of the receiver. Wood is fine with numerous light handling marks and a little loss of finish in places. Mechanics are crisp. Bore is very good with strong rifling with quite a bit of shine. Bolt face extremely fine. This is a select-fire machine gun. The Reising Model 50 is a popular well-made .45 ACP entry-level machine gun. THIS IS A NATIONAL FIREARMS ACT ITEM AND REQUIRES BATF APPROVAL PRIOR TO TRANSFER. THIS ITEM IS FULLY TRANSFERABLE ON AN ATF FORM 3 OR 4 AS CURIO & RELIC ELIGIBLE. JWK 2020-11-012
