Designed by Eugene Reising, the Harrington & Richardson Model 50 machine gun was fielded with the U.S. Marine Corps in the Pacific Theater during World War II, and also saw extensive usage with many police departments, who took large amounts of Reising Model 50s into their inventories after the conclusion of World War II. The Reising M50 is unique in that it fires its first shot from a closed bolt, giving it an accuracy advantage compared to other submachine guns of its time. This example features the military style parkerized finish, as well as a finned barrel, and compensator. Magazine housing is in-the-white. Top of receiver bears stampings stipulating the manufacturer, model, and caliber designations, with the right side bearing "SAFE", "SA", and "FA" for the selector. This example is accompanied by 1 12 round stick magazine, 1 aftermarket 30 round stick magazine, a canvas sling, an additional magazine housing, 1 retracting spring, retracting spring guide, and an additional unidentified spring. CONDITION: Metal components retain the vast majority of their reapplied parkerized finish, exhibiting a few minor areas of wear as well as a few scattered handling marks that show through to silvering. Receiver stampings are soft, but are still legible. Mirror bore, exhibiting well defined lands and grooves throughout. Stock bears some scattered nicks, dings, and a few scratches, but is otherwise strong and serviceable. 30 round magazine does not lock into place and may need some adjustment. A nice example of a popular entry level .45 ACP machine gun. THIS IS A NATIONAL FIREARMS ACT ITEM AND REQUIRES BATF APPROVAL PRIOR TO TRANSFER.
