Three position "S, E, F" selector Heckler & Koch MP5 registered receiver machine gun manufactured in 1984 according to “IE” proof code on top of receiver. Marked “Made in W. Germany / HK Chantilly, Va” on right side of magazine well and “HK MP5” on top of receiver. This MP5 is also marked "T&E Only". It stands for "Testing and Evaluation Only". This is a marking found on original factory guns, which are almost all found as dealer samples in the United States. This cataloger needs to emphasize the fact that this is a factory original MP5, not a remanufactured or installed auto-sear gun. This specimen incorporates a fixed stock and horizontal forend. One original, “9 X 19” marked magazine included. Electronic NFA registry indicates “IMPORTED NFA FIREARM” as the manufacturer. The Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco, Firearms & Explosives (BATF) is in the process of removing restrictions on what they call "GOVT Use Exception" previously Pre-86 Dealer Sample restricted machine guns. This is one such gun. Guns imported which were designated as Pre-86 Dealer Samples that fall into the special category of going immediately into the possession of Law Enforcement for a significant period of time are eligible to have their restrictions removed and become Fully Transferable to individuals. Manufacturer’s information, such as “Imported NFA Firearm”, is not being changed incidental to this process. CONDITION: Overall appearance and finish is near excellent original black hard coat finish. Composite furnishings of buttstock and pistol grip also near excellent. Bore is near excellent, shiny and bright. Bolt near excellent. Mechanics are crisp. This is a select fire machine gun. The very few factory original Heckler & Koch guns which are becoming fully transferable to individuals will undoubtedly command a premium now and into the foreseeable future.
