(N) VERY RARE AND MATCHING AUSTRIAN WWI STEYR MANUFACTURED SCHWARZLOSE MODEL 712 MACHINE GUN ON TRIPOD (CURIO & RELIC).

Rare example of the Austrian Schwarzlose, marked on left side “WAFFENFABRIK STEYR” “1917”, and on right side “M.G.. (SCHWARZLOSE)” “7/12”. Brass fill cap and drain hardware present and serviceable. Visible parts are matching throughout. Especially attractive to see the internals match the receiver. Original tripod is included with this lot. Electronic NFA registry indicates “UNKNOWN” in the manufacturer’s block. CONDITION: Overall appearance and finish is extremely fine original blued finish turned mostly a pleasant brown patina, thinning in places to a gray patina, particularly at the high edges. Rear wood handles extremely fine. Internal parts very clean and serviceable. Whomever maintained this gun made certain the operating parts were maintained in good condition. Bore is dark with strong rifling. Mechanics are crisp and positive. THIS IS A NATIONAL FIREARMS ACT ITEM AND REQUIRES BATF APPROVAL PRIOR TO TRANSFER.
