Very well accessorized Savage Arms Corporation manufactured U.S. M2 .50 caliber machine gun. Attractive brown composite grips. Muzzle attachment included at end of barrel. Original "Evans Products" G.I. M2 ground tripod is included with stirrup and Traverse and Elevation unit. About 800 rounds of ammunition total in this lot. Including ten original sealed “spam” cans of 55 each rounds of linked "A.P.I. M8" ammunition is included, as well as approximately 200 additional rounds of linked ball with some black tipped AP, and two shorter strings which include a "rainbow" of black, red, and blue tipped cartridges. Also included with this lot is an exceptionally rare and highly sought Fairchild Aviation manufactured optical sight which automatically adjusts for bullet drop as adjusted for range. As an added bonus, a World War II U.S.G.I. .30 caliber belt loading machine is also included with this lot. CONDITION: Overall appearance and finish is extremely fine to near excellent original dull grey finish with only some light handling marks. Tripod is extremely fine, as is the ammunition. Optical sight is very fine as is its original leather storage box. Very fine bore with some brown inside flash hider. Bolt face also extremely fine. Mechanics are crisp and positive. This is a full-automatic only machine gun. From the estate of noted cartridge collector and World War II veteran William H. Woodin.
