The Martini-Henry Mk II rifle is one of the most famous rifles associated with British colonial conflicts, particularly the Anglo-Zulu War of 1879. Right side of frame has the date with Enfield legend, SA broad arrow for small arms, numerous British proof marks on barrel and frame, PM and broad arrow armory stamps on right side of stock, full length walnut stock, two bands, bayonet lug, metal ram rod, post front sight, military ladder rear sight, and swivels. Finish was blue. CONDITION Very good. All metal is a clean homogenous soft patina. All legends are crisp. The stock shows usual war dings. The bore is extremely defined and crisp but lightly frosted. A very nice example of an historic rifle.
