(A) COLT FIRST MODEL DRAGOON SINGLE ACTION PERCUSSION PISTOL

Produced in 1849. This revolver features oval locking slots on the cylinder and six locking pins at rear. Barrel address for Sam Colt, New York City appears on the top of breech. One piece walnut grips. CONDITION: The revolver appears to have been refinished long ago, with finish and case colors appearing in the fine pitting on some surfaces. Evidence of a repair near the muzzle is illustrated by a difference in color from heat being applied. The back strap and trigger guard are a pleasing patina. All numbers are matching. The loading lever is operable and its end catch is secure. The bore is dark but has strong rifling and light freckling throughout. The revolver is mechanically sound.
