(A) COLT FIRST MODEL DRAGOON SINGLE ACTION PERCUSSION REVOLVER.

Produced in 1849, this revolver features a New York barrel address. The cylinder stops are of the oval type found on first models and six locking pins at the rear. The frame features a Colt patent stamp with US property marking. The revolver has all matching numbers. CONDITION: The revolver exhibits much of its original blue finish with plum colors visible underneath. The brass back straps and trigger guard show trace of silver plate in protected areas. The one piece walnut grips are smooth and well fitted and are free of cracks or repairs. The bore has strong rifling, with scattered light pitting in the grooves. Mechanically fine.
