Barrel converted from 42" to 36-1/2". Lockplate is marked "U.S. E. WHITNEY" under crossed arrows and "NEW HAVEN 1835". Barrel struck with a "P" and dated 1835 at tang. Full stock with two barrel bands and steel mounts. Stock with incised carving "B". CONDITION: Barrel with some staining with minor pitting around breech area. Lock with crisp marking and brown patina. Steel mounts with light corrosion on trigger guard. Stock with worn inspectors cartouche and some wear and minor dents. Tight crack behind lockplate. Action is crisp.
