Probably stocked in America or made for the American market. This pistol has a round barrel with British private view and proof marks stamped on the left side of the breech. The lock is unmarked and has simple single-line engraved borders. The brass furniture includes a pierced sideplate often associated with Samuel Coutty. The trigger guard has a flower engraved on the bow and an engraved arrow finial. The pommel cap is also engraved. Stocked what appears to be plain maple. CONDITION: Barrel retains a brown patina. Lock is probably a replacement and appears to be reconverted. Brass retains a pleasing mustard patina. Stock has a large sliver missing above back of lockplate tang and other scattered marks from use. Wrist escutcheon is missing. DMG
