Manufactured in 1848. One of the finest Colt Baby Dragoon to be offered in recent years. Serial number 2630 retains nearly all of its Colt factory soft bluing on barrel. Case colors on frame are muted as they always are. Cylinder is superb; retaining nearly all of the Indian and Dragoon scene. Brilliant bore, back strap and trigger guard have nearly all their original silver plating. Varnished walnut grips retain nearly all original varnish with very minor losses at toes. Barrel shows factory casting fault on underside of lug. Original case with blue lining. A very fine eagle flask with gilding on spout and top. Original mold, in as new condition. Also includes loading tool, box of cartridges, Eley cap tin and key. Unquestionably one of the best 5" Baby Dragoons to be offered in many years, a truly extraordinary example.
