Octagonal rifled barrel with silver bead front sight and tombstone-shaped engraved tang. Flat flintlock lockplate marked "T/KETLAND/& CO" in center. Engraved brass furniture. Two-piece sideplates with daisy-shaped and engraved brass front screw escutcheon and brass inlaid oval inscribed "SG" at rear lock screw. Butt cap engraved with large daisy and acanthus leaf. Trigger guard bow engraved with stylized "C" scroll and pineapple type finial. Vacant silver oval wrist escutcheon with engraved border, below a brass inlaid "C" scroll, engraved silver oval barrel key escutcheons. Full-length figured maple stock, wooden ramrod with painted stripes. Raised panels around lock and sideplate. Excellent condition; lock is in original flintlock configuration and both the lock and barrel retain a dark grey, even patina. Brass furniture retains a fairly dark patina. Stock very good with small period repair forward of lock and above tail, otherwise with a few light scattered marks from use.
