A good example of this interesting and fairly early rifle musket. The lock crisply marked "Mre Nle De Chatellerault". CONDITION: Lock retains some original case hardening, as does hammer. The barrel is smooth brown throughout with virtually no pitting. All steel mounts are extremely crisp with little or no corrosion. The walnut full stock with stamped "2170" has some wear but is very sound. Tulip ramrod appears to be original. Actions is extremely crisp, bore is excellent with well defined lands and grooves. A good example of this desirable French military rifle.
