(A) HARPER'S FERRY MODEL 1842 PERCUSSION MUSKET.
Lock is dated 1848. Struck barrel with band mounted pin front sight and custom dovetailed v-notch rear sight. Full length walnut stock with simplified Charleville styled mounts. CONDITION: Good. Barrel appears struck long ago, not with a mixed brown/gray patina. Stock is reoiled with burnout, various splits and cracks, some repaired. A sliver of wood is missing long the bottom of the lock plate. Dark, abraded bore. Nipple has been crushed. Mechanics are otherwise very good.
