(A) HIGH CONDITION SPECIAL ORDER WINCHESTER MODEL 1873 LEVER ACTION CARBINE

According to the factory research, this gun was shipped as a .44 caliber carbine on June 17, 1889 to "Consignor". It was subsequently returned to Winchester but there is no record of work or date. The carbine has the later factory applied PW proof on both the frame and top of barrel. There is no saddle ring or stud and now sports swivels. Post front sight and folding ladder rear sight, Winchester applied bright blue finish, a blued rifle buttplate with trap, and a blued lever and hammer. All appear to be factory done at some point. CONDITION: Excellent. This carbine remains in spectacular condition retaining a minimum of 95% of its bright blue finish exhibiting some nominal high edge and handling wear. The stocks are in commensurate condition, proud to metal, with minimal impressions. Mechanically sound with a bright bore.
