Of Southeast Asian origin, similar "monkey guns" were produced in the 19th and 20th centuries. This example features a light tapered barrel with sheet brass bands, primitive flint lock with fur talisman/brush, and wood stock terminating in a point. Many of these were taken as souvenirs during the Vietnam War. CONDITION: Good. Iron has developed a dark patina with ome pitting. Brass is mellow. Lock is missing its top jaw.
