Standard configuration barrel with bayonet lug, ramrod that is retain by 2 ferrules before feeding into a reinforced mouth with spearpoint finial, brass nose cap, sling bows above fore ferrule and brass trigger guard. Barrel is marked with a horizontal "G" and "246628" offset breech. Slightly convex Banana lock with stamped "(Crown) / GR" and horizontal "(Crown) / (Broad Arrow)" and "TOWER" in half moon at rear. Pierced neck cock, pan with rear fence, bridled pan cover, and double lock bolts retained by brass sideplate marked "I6". Pin fastened stock with relief shell carving around tang, sidepanel with "246 628" matching barrel numbering. Brass trigger guard with a plain stylized pineapple finial with a crudely incised "PA" ahead of finial, brass buttplate with spearpoint finial at heel. CONDITION: Barrel is very good, cleaned in the European fashion to a smooth steel grey with some scattered mossing; metal brighter about the bayonet lug from a bayonet having been there a long time, but no longer present. Stock is good with numerous handling marks, back half has numerous small divots, possibly insect damage, and one noticeable strike ahead of lock. Lock is in original flint configuration with some oil discoloration and mossing. Sling bow screws replaced. Mechanically fine, bore is very good. A good example. EMW
