(A) IRISH FLINTLOCK PISTOL BY EDWARDS OF DUBLIN.

William Edwards produced high quality pistols in Dublin in the latter half of the 18th century. Both the lock and barrel are stamped "EDWARDS" and the barrel is also stamped "Dublin". The swamped barrel transitions from octagon to a fluted appearing hexagon. The left side of barrel features two deeply stamped touch marks. Features all iron hardware and furniture, most exhibit light engraving. Stock is one piece walnut and hosts a wooden ramrod with two thimbles. CONDITION: Very good. All metal is now a smooth rich patina. The stock is fine exhibiting minor impressions. Mechanically sound. The bore shows some abrasion. PROVENANCE: Ex. Castlerock Museum.
