Manufactured from 1863 to 1875. Blued 8" .44 caliber octagon barrel with 3-line "NEW MODEL" address, blade front sight, and frame notch rear. 6-shot percussion cylinder with safety notches. Fit with 2-piece walnut grips. "J" and "W" martial inspector marks found throughout with a "GP" inspector cartouche stamped into the left grip. CONDITION: Very fine. Significant portions of original blued finish are retained, especially in protected areas, with balance turning to a brown patina. Trigger guard exhibits a bright, unpolished patina. Grips have a few minor marks and are slightly shy to grip frame. Excellent mirror bore displaying well defined rifling. Possibly unfired. Crisp mechanics. Full or partial matching serial numbers observed on grip frame, barrel, and cylinder. BAS
