(A) N.P. AMES US MODEL 1842/43 NAVY MARKED PERCUSSION PISTOL.

Approximately 2000 manufactured. Dated 1844 with USN stamp on lock with makers legend. Left side of barrel at breech with "RP" inspector stamp for Richard Paine. Iron furniture with brass trigger guard and barrel band, swivel ramrod, and brass plate at butt. Barrel finished in the white. CONDITION: Fine. Barrel shows overall oxidation and some age freckling. Lock is dark. Legends are all legible. Brass is toned. Stock is excellent with one small repaired crack at right side lock. Mechanically sound. Bore shows light abrasions.
