(A) NATIVE AMERICAN DECORATED 1853/67 CHATELLERAULT TABATIERE 12 BORE CARBINE ASSOCIATED WITH THE 101 RANCH.

Weapon was shortened to carbine length and utilizes a Snyder conversion back action lock. Left side of stock has an attached 101 Ranch Store 25n cent token. Barrel is attached to stock using leather and sinew. The lock has the Chatellerault Tabatiere legend. Stock is decorated with numerous brass tacks and right side of stock has a 2" hand hammered convex copper decoration resembling a sun dial. Stock is covered with thinning Prussian Blue pigment. The period in which this was decorated cannot be confirmed but shows some age. CONDITION: Fair. Has seen extensive use, wear and weathered with dry cracking stock and some chips missing, all deep patina and a wired repair. Not functional but has a great Indian decorated appearance.
