Nelson operated a gun shop in Troy, New York beginning around 1843 through 1888. This cape or combo gun has the rifled barrel on right side with smooth bore on left. The tang sports a lollipop rear sight, a globe front, and vacant rear barrel sight slot. Exposed hammers, double triggers, and back action locks. "N. Lewis Troy NY" stamped on top of barrels. Walnut half stock, roll over cheek piece with patch box on right side, smooth steel butt plate, sling eyes and wooden rod. CONDITION: Very good. All metal is a smooth homogenous patina. Stock has some scratches and dings but solid and handsome. Both hammers work correctly. Bores are dark.
