(A) PAIR OF BRITISH FLINTLOCK OFFICER'S PISTOLS BY HUTCHINSON.

Tapered round barrels with swamped muzzles and single London private proof on each barrel, no view marks. Convex lock plates marked "W. HUTCHINSON". Brass mounts with grotesque mask pommel caps and military motifs on sideplates. Symmetrical vacant escutcheons on wrists. Walnut stocks with relief shell designs carved in relief around barrel tangs. Both wood ramrods are contemporary. CONDITION: Barrels both show pitting throughout. Locks are in their original flintlock configurations and function well. Lock have brown patina and some pitting on one of the cocks. Brass mounts show heavy wear and rear trigger guard on one pistol has been replaced. Both have areas of professional wood restoration.
