Consecutively serial numbered pair of Remington New Model cartridge revolvers. Manufactured from 1863 until 1888. Engraved in a broad scroll and vine pattern with octagon barrel and German silver blade front sight. 2 piece dark varnished rosewood grips and case colored hammer with Remington address on top barrel flat and silver finished brass trigger guard. Blue finished overall. Revolvers are serial numbered on lower barrel flat, on frame under left grip, and grips are pencil numbered on right grip. Cylinder and rear cylinder plate are numbered with last three numbers of serial number. Housed in a period oak, French fitted case with cartridge block. CONDITION: Fine with 20% thinning blue finish remaining with brilliant bores and excellent grips. Mechanically excellent. Vivid case colors on hammer. Traces of silver remain on trigger guard. Action operates properly. Case is very fine as restored and relined. A marvelous matching pair of Remington Belt revolvers.
