Jaquet is recorded in Stockel as working in Geneve circa 1820-1850. Manufactured as a pair with gold inlaid numerals over breeches. Hooked patent breeches on octagonal barrels signed in gold on top flat "H JAQUET A GENEBE". Belgian proofs are visible on leftmost barrel flat; barrels retained by single key with escutcheon. Diminutive target signs. Simple cocks with scroll engraving, locks are engraved with what appear to be hunting scenes. Spurred trigger guards with set triggers. Stocks with fluted grips and relief carved florals at grips and forend. Butts with urn finials. CONDITION: Metal has even patina throughout, with flashes of dove grey visible. Metal has some pitting that has obscured finer details such as engraving on locks. Wood has numerous chips and cracks throughout. One of the urn finials is loose. Action on one pistol works appropriately, other does not hold on full cock. Bores are fair, one with visible rifling and both with heavy pitting. EW
