The Hill family of London were famed for their small pocket and muff pistols. This example is an extreme rarity in that it is a large bore type of pocket pistol but made with four removeable .40 caliber barrels with a single flintlock ignition but a rotating tumbler that allows it to be set off all four at the same time or two at a time, much like a miniature boarding pistol. The frame features some light engraving along with "London" on one side and "Hill" on the other. Typical one piece walnut bag style grip. Quite a handful of power in a very small pocket size package. CONDITION: Very good. All metal is now in the white having been cleaned at one time and exhibiting some spotted oxidation. Grips solid with a few dings. Really a museum piece.
