Manufactured during the Civil War, the majority of production was acquired for martial use. This relic example appears to still be partially loaded with largely intact grips. It is accompanied by dual cavity .44 caliber mold recovered from the same location. An included handwritten note indicates they were recovered from a privy dig at Algiers Point in New Orleans in 2018 and were recovered alongside other Confederate relics, including a Pelican belt plate. CONDITION: Relic. A layer of protective coating has been added. A very neat, likely Confederate-used, relic Savage Navy.
