While unsigned, barrel with deep touchmarks of a dog for Bartolome (sometimes references are Barthomeu) from Valladolid, Castilla, circa 1722, and a Crown over CAMS for Manuel Camps (sometimes referenced as Cams), Barcelona, circa 1725. Two stage octagonal to round barrel with small silver inlays of geometrics and a cross at breech, wedding band separation between stages, which is further decorated with florals. Swamped barrel. Barrel tang decorated with shell motif and geometric. Patilla style miquelet lock with long frizzen spring and both half and full cock positions, decorated throughout with florals. Ramrod, likely a replacement, retained by a single brass ferrule and a brass ramrod mouth decorated en suite. Relief carved stock en suite. Brass trigger guard, butt and straps, and sideplate decorated en suite, with silver plaque inlays depicting busts. CONDITION: Very good. Metal essentially dove grey mixing with old oxidation. Frizzen spring has been replaced with a contemporary iteration. Silver has tarnished evenly, brass with an attractive mellow mustard patina. Wood is very good with scattered marks acquired over the years, with one split at ramrod mouth and one chip under lock. Action works appropriately when operated by hand, bore is very good with even oxidation throughout. An attractive Spanish pistol. EW
