Stock is dated 1890 with SWP (Sam Porter) cartouche on left side with proof P at bottom wrist. The block has the US MODEL 1884 stamp. Barrel has the faint VP eagle head proof. Lock has US SPRINGFIELD with eagle. Features the Buffington rear sight, hooded front sight, metal ramrod, unit or rack number 54 butt plate with no trap, two bands and sporting an original single brass frog sling. CONDITION: Fine. Barrel is a butter smooth patina. Lock has majority of blue finish, case color on block is mottled. Stock has a strong cartouche and just the usual dings with small scratch at base. Bore is bright.
