Converted using the Allin system in 1866. The breech block is dated 1866 with the eagle head. The lock is dated 1864 with US SPRINGFIELD and eagle. Finished in the white, features three bands, metal rod, eagle head proof on left side barrel at breech and folding leaf rear sight. The full length walnut stock has a strong ESA cartouche for Erskine Allen. CONDITION: Excellent. The block is blackened. The lock and hammer are mottled with no color. Balance of metal is white with only some slight oxidation . The stock is excellent with moderate impressions. Bore is strong with minor abrasion.
