Round barrel made without sights with "LONDON" across top of breech, with Tower private proofs consisting of a pair of "(Crown) / (Scepter)" proofs, retained by pins and a pair of keys. Flat lock with reinforced cock, bridled pan, and line engraving around perimeter, marked "TATHAM / & EGG" in center. Brass sideplate, trigger guard, buttcap, and ramrod ferrule which flares at mouth. CONDITION: Metal has been cleaned in the European fashion with an even softened pitting across barrel. Lock has also been cleaned but has less pitting. One lock screw replaced. Wood has handling marks and some insect damage around finial and wrist, some of which has some woodfill. Mechanically fine, bore is very good with a minimum of oxidation. EMW
